Proud Heritage
During
the baby boom years of the 1950's, the world's desire for better
quality life gave stride to its demand for high quality rugged
boots. In 1953, Min Tai leather Productions Co., Ltd. was founded
to meet the world's demand by establishing a Goodyear Welt Boot
Factory in Taiwan. The world's demand for Goodyear welt construction
boots continued to grow rapidly into the 1970's. Thus in 1978,
Mr. Shu-Tzu Ho, chairman of Min Tai Leather Products Co., Ltd.,
expanded the company's production capacity by establishing Golden
Chang Industrial Co., Ltd. Supported by hardworking staff members
and having established an excellent reputation with customers
worldwide, Golden Chang flourished. In 1989, Guangzhou Glory Shoes
Industrial Co., Ltd. in China was established and added to the
Golden Chang family. Following the success of the Guangzhou factory,
several more subsidiaries including our Tangzhou flagship factory
was also established to provide top quality boots and excellent
customer services worldwide. Today, the Golden Chang family, together
with its various factories worldwide, employs over 10,000 employees
and produces more than 1 million pairs of work boots monthly.
Odyssey Shoes Co., Inc. is a proud member of the Golden Chang
family. Established in the U.S.A in 1994, our hope is to carry
on the family tradition by providing top quality footwear and
outstanding service the world has come to expect from the Golden
Chang family.
